Zebra Versus Swain Mats

Bivouac in Camposauro

I finally had to camp out in Camposauro, even if just for one night. For years I wanted to do, because at night the mountain reveals totally different and interesting, and I wanted to satisfy my curiosity about it.

Unable to bring home all the equipment, I had to give up many things, including a sleeping bag and Trangia: the first, I had already decided to replace it with some blankets, while the second would have been remedied with the campfire.

After some rethinking, at the end we started a three ( "In the remaining three in the company" ), and after collecting the wood and have placed the camp, we immediately dedicated to a nutritious snack (it was about 19!) based on cheese, spicy dried sausage and bread, all washed down with good and excellent Aglianico Barbera (both in the area). Although it has been renamed "snack Hobbit" (which implies something that is tiny) but was a real and his own blowout, so much so that the dinner of roasted meat was postponed. Also of note is that the meat, eaten with bare hands full in wild delirium, and accompanied by the inevitable wine. The
after dinner was devoted to observing the night sky, which has revealed the magnificence of the Milky Way, which is crossed by dozens of meteors. The arrival of the clouds, then, there has also persuaded to fall in tents.

The night is spent at many awakenings caused by the noises of nocturnal animals (above all, a bloody horse in the night has seen fit to neigh loudly a few meters from the tents), and the cot on which "I slept" so uncomfortable in the morning I was completely sore back. The two covers I've used have done their job well (the temperature on arrival was 19 °, then in the night I will have dropped around 12 ° -13 °) are two wool blankets, manufactured in the USA in 1943 and part of the budget of the American army during the Second World War. Almost two historical relics, but despite this are very effective, despite their thinness, due to the high density of the fabric (one of these I use regularly at home in the winter).

The following day began with a hearty breakfast made around 8:30, followed by a "snack" after 9. Virtually we went up there to eat and drink, all right! Eheheheh ...
The following morning was spent in collecting firewood, made a short walk with the hope of finding something edible, in the spirit forest (the only two fungi found, in addition to being edible, they were also of wood, so were dried), exchanged some talk with some locals and a bit 'of photos taken at a small herd of horses came to drink from the fountain not far from the camp.

lunchtime, rekindled the fire, we cooked the pasta amatriciana sauce (gravy ready, definitely not Scots, but I fully recovered eating with a fork created on the fly with a sprig of beech), and by roasting some sausages, then accompanied the last remaining bottle of Barbera.
After a short rest under beeches, we have dismantled the camp and we are finally down to the valley.

Despite the lack of equipment, the experience was very positive.
When we chose the place to expect, I regret not having had the hammock with me, but how it is spent the night perhaps it was good. Excellent shower area, bought the day before just because I was looking for some time: also used as a simple water reservoir, is very practical and comfortable (of course remembering to keep the shade, in this case). Welcome change that the "traditional food", surely to be repeated in other situations: at the expense of a slight increase in weight gain in psychological terms it is too obvious (no, I'm not talking wine! ). And it's damning Scots!

only regret not having gone on the North side to admire the view offered by Valley Telesina lit by thousands of lights. It will be a good excuse to come back!

How To Get Rid Of Meralgia Parasthetica

Camposauro

The first message that I could dedicate it to that, over time, for me has become a sort of archetype of the mountain: Camposauro. This
massif, part of the Regional Park Taburno-Camposauro (located in the province of Benevento), it holds almost all the features I most appreciate the mountain environment and forests.
The hilly terrain offers scenic views remarkable, emphasized by the extensive hardwood forests, which alternate with rocks or clearings of varying length. The center of gravity is the famous plateau, dominated by Mount Camposauro that, with its 1338 meters, it dominates the whole area.
The proximity to population centers (the park is virtually surrounded) has meant that confirms a significant man-made environment (especially in the most negative aspects that this means, unfortunately) but has also allowed us to develop a close relationship with the mountain, causing an item is not distant and isolated, but is an integral part of the territory.

Can You Have A Pet Platypus In The Usa

Saltuum

Saltuum (Latin ) means " of the woods," and is linked to that " wildlife" in the header. This expression condenses the environmental issues forested mountain I most appreciate, not only limited to hiking, but also what he has somehow to do with my understanding of the forest and mountains in general. This journal

used to satisfy the desire (dare I say need) to share what concerns the wildlife with those who often are an integral part, making them more involved (and, perhaps, more aware) of what was experienced .
In a sense, this journal is dedicated to them!
